How To Lose Weight And Get In Better Shape At School

I, like most teenagers, have gotten out of shape a little bit during the Corona Virus. Because of this, I have gained a few extra pounds of fat that I plan to burn off during class and at school. I have a long plan of ways that I can lose weight, all of which will be listed in this article. I will include slight diet changes (what food you should eat from the school lunch), exercises that you can do in class (that people won't notice or find weird), and others.

The Diet Changes

There are many changes that you can do in the school day to help yourself lose weight. One of the most common ways to lose some extra pounds is drinking more water. While it will leave you feeling bloated, it is scientifically proven that it will help you lose extra weight in the long run, if you are willing to wait a few extra days. It is also healthier to drink lots of water than it is to not eat as much, even though it will help you lose the same amount of weight.

Another Diet Change that you can do is to plan a better lunch for yourself. I understand that you may prefer to eat the school lunch, which is okay, so I will tell you what the best weight loss foods the school serves. The fruits and vegetables that the school serves are a good choice to eat, especially the apples, bananas, and green beans. Instead of buying milk, it would be best to get the free water. This will also help with the weight loss, as I said above. Most school meals have a grain in them, but many choose not to eat them. If it is rice, that is the healthiest and cleanest grain you can eat, so it is a wise decision to eat it. Some more food you should stay away from is packaged snacks. Something else to stay away from is carbonated drinks. When I quit drinking carbonated drinks I lost eight pounds that month.

If you eat the breakfast at school, then you may also have gained a lot of fat from that. Stay away from the syrup and the cereal that the school serves. Instead, eat the eggs and grains mainly. If they have oatmeal, that's amazing for you too.

Exercises For Class

Unlike with your diets, there are not many options for you to be able to exercise in class that could go unnoticed by other judge-mental students. There has been many studies conducted that have shown just getting up every 30 minutes and walking around the classroom can improve your fitness levels significantly. In other words, in each of your class periods you should get up and go sharpen your pencil. It also helps to tap your move your legs a little bit every once in a while and to "walk in place". I plan on putting my toes on the basket of the person in front of me and my knees against the top of my desk and doing calf raises.

Another good way to lose weight at school is walking. In between each of your classes, you have 5-10 minutes to walk (depending on the school). That gives you an extra 35 to 70 minutes per day to walk. You can also park farther from the school or get dropped off farther from the school.

The "Other" Methods

The "Other" Methods are just sports you can play to get in shape. The number one sport I would recommend for healthy weight loss is Cross Country. In Cross Country you run 2-10 miles (usually around 4) at practice and 2-3 miles at competitions (2 in middle school, 3 in high school). This running causes a lot of weight loss, but don't forget that you need to drink water. My number one for weight loss in general (some coaches will make you lose weight unhealthily) would be wrestling. I know guys who have lost over 20 pounds in a day (information about that here) before just so they could wrestle. Wrestlers are also some of the strongest people in the school and also will hardly ever lose in a real fight. Of course, all sports can help you lose weight, it's just that these are my personal favorite.
